Dan Colen’s presenting a bunch of skateboard ramps at Gagosian’s Chelsea location that no one is allowed to use. This separates the show from Deitch Project’s Skateboard Bowl in 2002-2003, which skaters performed on all day. We have some concerns about this exhibition — namely that it isn’t going to be much more than a bunch of ramps — but it’s recommended regardless. Colen’s big graffiti rocks are strange enough to get a pass from us, so that’s something, as is his legacy as the sole survivor of Deitch’s hamster nest, which he collaborated on with the deceased Dash Snow.
