Tim Griffin’s Second Act | The New York Observer

  • Tim Griffin’s Second Act | The New York Observer – "[Tim Griffin] sees becoming a curator for the first time, at a venue as celebrated as the Kitchen, as a logical extension of being an editor. People tend to agree that he is the shot in the arm the venue needs to reinstate its international reputation." Who are these people who agree he's the shot in the arm The Kitchen needs to "reinstate its international reputation"? Griffin took over ArtForum when it was doing very well, and drove it into irrelevancy. I didn't realize the story had mutated from Director Debra Singer leaves to take care of her son, to she's not doing a good job, so the kitchen's found a man who’s not so tired to take over.

“After an interview, Mr. Griffin and The Observer walked in the rain to his new employer at 512 W. 19th Street, in the heart of the Chelsea art gallery district…”

Actually the “heart” would be around 22nd or 23rd Streets.
