#0000FF, the Facebook group
[Color Wheel is a series in which we identify a trending color in art for the week and post a daily image that illustrates its popularity.]
After seeing a sea of blue at Art Toronto, we decided to declare the color the focus for the week. Let’s get the low hanging fruit out of the way immediately: #0000FF is a facebook group dedicated to highlighting any color in art works that comes close to the hexadecimal notation it takes its name from. #0000FF is the HTML code for blue, and according to this group, it shows up all the time in art. The group posts blue art works once or twice a day. If that’s not evidence of a trend, we don’t know what is.
