We may have chosen art over trees when we moved to New York, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want both. That’s part of the reason we’d go hear sculptor/architect/eco artist Mary Miss discuss her “Broadway: 1000 Steps” project, guided walks in which artists and scientists point out ecosystems along the Broadway corridor. Miss’s talk is also part of Marfa Dialogues, which, along with Klaus Biesenbach, has been spearheading the environmental conversation in the art world. Also it sounds a lot better than the Rain Room. But that’s a low bar. Mary Miss be on a panel “Shifting Domains: Artists Respond to the Threatened Ecological Commons” tonight, at 6 PM, at the Robert Rauschenberg Project Space (455 West 19thStreet).
