Color Wheel is a series in which we identify this week’s trending color in art, and post a daily image that illustrates its popularity. This week’s color is green.
It doesn’t get much greener than “Endless Grass.” Scroll through Mitch Trale’s site, and swaths of digital dirt get covered by endless rolls of digital astroturf. I never realized how much I wanted to see grass in a place where it can never grow.
The piece is Trale’s contribution to Rick Silva’s The Wrong pavilion “Western Digital“. After scouring through most of the biennale today to find an all-green artwork, I can tell you this pavilion– with others like like Barry Doupé’s “Whaty” and Amy Alexander’s “Googling Californians“– is well worth spending some time with.
